STATION HAND
Specific Roles:
- To be responsible for the well being of the stock and to apply the practices of Low Stress Stock (LSS) handling when working with stock.
- Handling both Sheep and Cattle mustering on motorbikes.
- Performing Sheep & Cattle husbandry.
- Fencing construction and maintenance.
- Water construction and maintenance.
- Machinery maintenance.
- Participate in a skills audit to identify and prioritise the training that is necessary
- To attend weekly meetings to work with the rest of the team to prioritise the operational side of the Bayrick business
- Welding & Vehicle maintenance
- Feeding Lick supplement to Sheep & Cattle
- Other associated rural Cattle & Sheep station duties.

Working Expectations
- That the applicant will keep the sheds in a neat and tidy condition
- That the tools, motorbikes and motor vehicles are kept in a safe neat and orderly condition.
- That after use all equipment will be returned to their retrospective places.
- That the jobs that are set out are accomplished (within reason).
- That all Workplace Health and Safety rules are followed and common sense prevails.

GOVERNESS
Location: Bayrick Station 75km South of Tambo,
80km West of Augathella or 115km North of Charleville, QLD
Specific Roles:
- Teaching and supervising children whilst in school room - Yr 5, Yr 3 & Prep
- Liaising with Mount Isa School of the Air (MISOTA) teachers
- Preparing and packing school materials back to school
- Maintaining tidy school room
- Assisting with outside school hours activities with children
- Assigned station jobs (if required)
- Domestic jobs for out of school hours
- Contribute to the effectiveness of a safe work environment
Main Skills Required:
- Must enjoy the company of children
- High level of attention to detail and ability to follow written instruction
- Open mind and a willingness to learn
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Ability to be highly organized and tidy
- Ability to adapt to a changing work environment
- First Aid certificate
- Working with Children Blue Card
- Own ABN
Wage plus board and keep paid.
Own separate room in shared staff accommodation.
Accommodation away from main house and school room.
Teaching skills/experience would be highly regarded and desirable but not essential.
STATIONHAND/HANDYPERSON
Main Skills Required:
- Tractor operation
- Welding
- Vehicle maintenance (service, tyres)
- Must be able to ride and maintain motorbike.
- Competent driver
- Must like outdoors work
STOCK PERSON
Specific Roles:
- Data recording i.e. graze charts, stock records, rainfall records in your assigned cells and to be responsible for all that happens in that area
- To educate yourself to quickly and effectively be able to calculate stock days to be taken out, stock days taken out and stock days remaining and do a graze plan and learn the feed budgeting program
- To be responsible for the well being of the stock
- Daily stock movements
- Vehicle maintenance and cleanliness
- Motor bike maintenance and repairs
- General property maintenance i.e. water troughs, fences, electrical supply to fences
- Participate in a skills audit to identify and prioritize the training that is necessary.
- To attend weekly meetings to work with the rest of the team to prioritize the operational side of the Sutherland business
- To develop a high level of communication with the rest of the team
- Assist Manager and Overseer with East Creek & New Water (breeder blocks) musters and maintenance
- General station duties as requested/required
- Contribute to a safe workplace
Main Skills Required:
- Good communicating skills
- Some mechanical knowledge particularly about motorbikes
- Good ability to keep accurate records
- Truck license would be an advantage
- An open mind, keenness for the job and a willingness to accept change

CARETAKER/HANDYPERSON
Main Skills Required:
- Check and maintain livestock waters and fences
- General R & M for the homestead and surrounding area
- Participate in weekly meetings
- Conduct prickly acacia tree spraying
- Station vehicle and machinery maintenance
- Welding, oxy & mechanical skills etc
- Ability to organise and prioritise themselves
- Work independently
- Good communication skills
GOVERNESS
Location: Sutherland, NW QLD
Specific Roles:
- Teaching and supervising children whilst in school room - Yr 4 and 2.
- Liaising with MISOTA teachers
- Preparing and packing school materials back to school
- Maintaining tidy school room
- Assisting with outside school hours activities with children
- Assigned station jobs
- Domestic jobs for out of school hours
- Contribute to the effectiveness of a safe work environment

- Gardening including mowing, raking, pruning, watering, rolling, blowing tennis court
- Housework including vacuuming, mopping, cleaning windows, cleaning bathrooms, washing, maintaining cleanliness in guest rooms
- Cooking meals for up to 9 people daily
Main Skills Required:
- Drivers license would be an advantage
- Open mind and a willingness to learn
- Good communication skills
- Some cooking experience is highly regarded
STATIONHAND/MAINTENANCE OVERSEER
Specific Roles:
- The primary role of the position is the responsibility of all station related maintenance.
- To be responsible for the well being of the stock and to apply the practices of Low Stress Stock (LSS) handling when working with stock
- A high level of vehicle maintenance and cleanliness
- A high level of motor bike maintenance and repairs
- General property maintenance i.e. water troughs, fences, delving bore drains.
- Assist manager with the implementation of the property development plan.
- Participate in a skills audit to identify and prioritise the training that is necessary
- To attend weekly meetings to work with the rest of the team to prioritise the operational side of the Woolthorpe business
- To develop a high level of communication with the rest of the team
- General station duties as requested/required
- Contribute to a safe workplace
Main Skills Required:
- Good communicating skills
- Sound mechanical knowledge particularly about station plant & equipment.
- Sound machinery operation skills
- Welding and fabrication skills required
- Truck licence would be an advantage
- Weapons licence would be an advantage
- An open mind, keenness for the job and a willingness to accept change
- Ability to prioritise and organise self
- We would expect the successful applicant to be willing to maintain a high standard in relation to the care of equipment and livestock.
- Grader experience would be an advantage.
